Considering being a Moderator?

Moderators for the IWPC play a critical key role in the overall success of the conference. Moderators are responsible for ensuring the sessions run smoothly by introducing the speakers, encouraging participation in Q&A, and enforcing the rules.

Moderating a technical session is a great way to practice your presentation skills in a friendly environment, gain visibility among your colleagues and network.

The basic responsibilities of the Moderator include:

  • Preparing in advance by reviewing their presentations and touching base with the presenters to introduce yourself, clarify information (such as name pronunciation), provide conference information and to discuss a potential lead off question.
  • Introducing session speakers and presentations in an engaging manner.
  • Moderating the session, strictly adhering to the conference timelines.
  • Facilitating questions and discussion for meaningful interaction.
  • Ensuring a professional and comfortable atmosphere for all session participants.

Moderators will be selected starting in late December. If you would like to be a Moderator at IWPC 2025, please email the IWPC Program Chairs Chris Buckley or Ed Brown.
