GPSD Now and in the Future - Operator Presentation/Tour
March 18, 2024; 1 pm - 3 pm

As GPSD prepares for the next generation of improvements to our Darst St. wastewater treatment plant, it’s good to take stock of the success and failures of recent efforts.  Only a few years ago, GPSD replaced a nearly-ninety year old conventional activated sludge secondary process with an enhanced biological phosphorous removal (EBPR) configuration, significantly reducing nutrient discharge.  With nutrient removal enhanced, GPSD’s focus now turns towards both improving operational efficiencies and wastewater treatment plant rehabilitation.  Improvements made, coupled with improvements planned, will prepare GPSD for the foreseeable future
